Cisco’s Unified Communications Manager and Communication Manager Express

Description: A
practical 5 day workshop where the students spend the first 4 days learning how
to set up and configure Cisco’s Unified communication
Manager v6/7 in a Headquarters environment.
Both GUI and Linux command line is used.
The final day is spent setting up
the Branch Office Router with Communications Manager Express (CME). The students configure MGCP and SIP trunks on
both applications to tie the Headquarters and Branch together over an IP WAN.
A PSTN simulator is used to take
calls when the IP WAN is not available.
Course Content:
CIPT1
v6.0 courseware is used for the first 4 days(excluding
the Cisco advertising and no “Death by PowerPoint”
Students
learn the following:
·
How to change the IP address on the publisher and
set the voice gateway.
·
Set up users in UCN using BAT
·
Download DHCP configuration from UCM to the IP
Phones.
·
Register Cisco IP Phones (models 7960, 7961, 7970)
·
Configure 3560 POE switches for voice and data
VLAN’s
·
Configure Cisco 2800 series voice gateway routers
for MGCP T1-Pri, FXS, FXO and DSP farm
·
Create simple and complex dial plans and point to
multiple voice gateways
·
Set up voice Class of Service using Calling Search Space
and Partitions
·
Configure several IP phone features, including Call
Park, Call Pickup, Call Hunting, shared line, music on hold, and Conferencing.
·
Configure a third party SIP phone to work with UCM
·
Set up and Use UCM’s Video Advantage on the desktop.
Using
Custom courseware, the final day is spent setting up and configuring CME on the
Branch Router, including:

Set up and configure the Branch Router for CME
·
Configure DHCP pools on the CME Router
·
Verify and configure Branch Switchports
·
Configure an NTP Service
·
Configure POTS Dial Peers for FXS, FXO and PRI to
the Headquarters
·
Configure VOIP dial peers across a WAN link
·
Implement Cisco Auto QOS
·
Implement several voice features on the CME Router.
