Description:
:  Administering Cisco Unified Communications Manager (ACUCM) instructor-led course that teaches administrators how to perform the most frequently requested administrative tasks for Cisco Unified Communications Manager and IP phone installations.  The course will provide the skills and knowledge necessary to handle the addition of users, changing of user preferences, basic phone installation, and all the day-to-day management needs that are associated with an IP telephony system.  The course lecture is based on Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.0.

Course Contents:

 


Learn what’s new in Cisco’s CUCM v8.0, including:

·      Service Advertisement Framework (SAF) and Call Control Directory

·      VPN and ASA remote proxy via Ip Phone

·      Extension Mobility Cross Cluster (EMCC)

·      Intercompany Media Engine (IME)

 

The final two days are spent producing competent administrators of the Cisco Unity products by integrating CUCM 8.0 and Cisco Unity Connection 8.0.

 

Heavily weighted towards the lab side, the class is taught with each student working with live Cisco equipment in the classroom.  Each table includes:

·      CUCM publisher 8.0

·      CUCM subscriber 8.0

·      2800 series Integrated Services Router with DSP’s

·      3560 POE Switch

·      Various models of 79xx phones

·      Access to Adtran 550 simulator with PSTN connections

 

Learn the following through balanced lecture and labs:

·      Activate required CUCM services and Enterprise Parameters

·      Eliminate DNS reliance

·      Synchronize Publisher and Subscriber

·      Configure Data and Voice VLAN’s

·      Set up a working DHCP server in CUCM

·      Register IP phones three different ways

·      Register a third party SIP phone

·      Manage user accounts in CUCM

·      Harden IP Phones

·      Implement MGCP Gateways

·      Create simple and complex route patterns

·      Make on-site and off-site calls using Digit Manipulation

·      Use the Dialed Number Analyzer (DNA)

·      Configure and use SRST

·      Unlock the mystery of Call Search Spaces and Partitions, including TOD CoS and FAC

·      Configure Call Coverage

·      Configure Media Resources including Conference Bridges and Music on Hold

·      Enable User Features - Call Park, Call Pick-up, DND, Intercom, Privacy

·      Create Presence-enabled Speed Dials

·      Set up Unified Video Advantage Cameras

 

On day four, students will complete the CUCM and Unity Connection Integration and finish the week with:

·      Set up of Cisco Unity Connection

·      Adding Subscribers

·      Creating Daily and Holiday Schedules

·      Create Custom Call Handlers and Interview Handlers

·      Audiotext Applications

·      Unity System Monitoring and Maintenance

·      Others
